Reducto is seeking a Backend/AI Engineer to work on its core API, which powers document parsing for hundreds of companies. This role involves integrating cutting-edge LLMs, optimizing document processing pipelines, and building the infrastructure for scalable document understanding. You will be responsible for making improvements to API design and pre-processing algorithms, building and enhancing document processing pipelines, and experimenting with new techniques to improve LLM accuracy and reduce latency. The position also includes building internal tooling and evaluations, and collaborating directly with founders and customers to shape product direction and engineering strategy.
Responsibilities
- Integrate and optimize LLM calls for structured extraction, form filling, and document understanding.
- Improve API design and pre-processing algorithms based on customer feedback.
- Build and enhance document processing pipelines for various document types at scale.
- Experiment with new techniques to improve LLM accuracy and reduce latency.
- Develop internal tooling and evaluations for analyzing failure cases.
- Collaborate with founders and customers on product and engineering strategy.
Requirements
- 2+ years of experience building real-world applications.
- Experience integrating LLMs into production systems.
- Exceptional proficiency in Python.
- Ability to debug, experiment, and iterate quickly with a quantitative approach.
- Comfortable with the full development lifecycle, from ideation to shipping.
- High agency and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
