About the job
The Developer Experience team at Moveworks builds platforms that empower developers working on the Moveworks Agentic AI platform. This role is central to owning the technical foundation for the team's output, focusing on designing and building complex platform challenges related to generality, scalability, and extensibility, all while prioritizing the developer experience. The ideal candidate thinks in systems, ships impactful solutions, and effectively collaborates with and influences others.
Responsibilities
- Design and build core developer platforms including SDKs, APIs, runtime abstractions, tooling infrastructure, and developer-facing services.
- Own the end-to-end delivery of products aimed at enhancing developer productivity, reducing time-to-market, and improving artifact quality.
- Define platform primitives that serve as the foundation for other products, emphasizing generality, reliability, and clean abstractions.
- Drive measurable improvements in developer activation, integration velocity, artifact quality, and ecosystem breadth.
- Lead the technical strategy for platform areas, including roadmap development, API design, and cross-team alignment.
- Set the engineering standard for architecture, design, observability, and operational excellence.
- Mentor senior engineers and elevate the team's overall technical expertise.
Requirements
- 12+ years of experience designing, building, and operating production systems, with substantial experience on platform or infrastructure teams.
- Proven experience leading the design and multi-year operation of developer platforms that have been adopted by over 100 external teams.
- Deep expertise in distributed systems, covering reliability, API design, performance, fault tolerance, and observability.
- Strong systems engineering skills with fluency in operating production microservices at scale.
- Experience building general-purpose platforms relied upon by other engineers, with a clear understanding of effective abstraction principles.
- Demonstrated ability to take end-to-end ownership, from design and coding to production debugging and iteration based on feedback.
- Proficiency in navigating tradeoffs with incomplete data, including decisions on generalization vs. specialization, build vs. integrate, and speed vs. design commitment.
- Understanding of developer activation funnels and feedback loops that foster core contributor engagement.
