Legora is seeking an AI Engineer to redefine how legal work is done by building and owning AI-native platforms and internal agents. This role involves taking broad ownership of AI systems, treating them as products, and ensuring their quality, reliability, and business impact. You will be responsible for the end-to-end lifecycle of what you build, from architecture to production deployment and user adoption. The position requires shaping the AI roadmap, designing foundational elements like knowledge architecture and access controls, and collaborating directly with end-users across the company.
Responsibilities
- Build internal agents, tools, and platforms, treating them as products with ownership over quality, reliability, and business impact.
- Translate broad goals into actionable requirements and break down work independently.
- Own the entire lifecycle of developed solutions, from architecture to production and user adoption.
- Shape and advocate for the AI product roadmap and priorities.
- Design foundational AI infrastructure, including knowledge architecture, access controls, evaluation, monitoring, and scalable guardrails.
- Collaborate directly with end-users across the company to understand needs and deliver solutions.
Requirements
- Strong engineering fundamentals with experience building production systems.
- Deep understanding of LLM-based systems, including agents, retrieval, evaluation, and tool use, with knowledge of common failure points.
- Proactive ownership and ability to propose improvements when requirements are unclear or incorrect.
- Ability to understand and connect technical, domain, and business needs.
- Openness to feedback, collaboration, and adapting to new evidence.
- Comfort with ambiguity in a fast-growing, evolving environment.
- Proficiency in TypeScript.
- Experience with infrastructure management, including Terraform and cloud providers.
- Daily use of code agents in the development workflow.
