About the job
Our Internal Acceleration team is building agents to speed up the production of frontier tokens. You will collaborate directly with founders and embed with our special projects team to develop new agentic harnesses and operating systems, fundamentally changing how hardware is built in an AI-native world. Your success will be measured by the acceleration of Etched's progress, not just lines of code. This role is ideal for engineers who excel in ambiguous environments, possess strong product intuition, and are eager to own problems from inception to completion. It's a dynamic, time-sensitive, and business-critical position that requires dedication beyond a standard 9-5.
Responsibilities
- Embed with the special projects team to identify high-leverage bottlenecks and own them from concept to production-ready tools.
- Build and deploy LLM agents integrated into engineering workflows using tool-calling and MCP.
- Develop and launch full-stack internal products, including interfaces, data pipelines, and infrastructure.
- Design evaluations and track adoption to measure effectiveness and guide resource allocation.
- Undertake special projects with founders, identify company-wide issues, and drive them to critical milestones.
Requirements
- 1-5+ years of experience building and shipping end-to-end software, preferably in a fast-paced startup.
- Strong full-stack development skills.
- Experience building LLM agents or AI tooling with features like context engineering, tool integration, evaluations, and failure analysis.
- Proficiency in using AI for rapid learning in new domains, leveraging agentic coding tools and frontier models.
- Demonstrated product sense, design aesthetic, and meticulous attention to detail.
- High degree of agency and problem-solving ability, identifying root causes rather than just stated issues.
