ElevenLabs is seeking a backend-leaning full-stack engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation Creative Agents. The goal is to make agents a primary tool for creation within ElevenCreative, enabling users to generate high-quality audio, image, and video without needing to be prompting experts. You will join a small team responsible for the agent's capabilities and architecture, with ownership spanning backend systems, agent infrastructure, and the user-facing experience. This role involves identifying user needs, prototyping, shipping features, and supporting them in production, while also improving and operating a live product.
Responsibilities
- Build production agents and enhance their capabilities using prompts, tool use, orchestration, new models, and MCP integrations.
- Design and operate reliable backend systems for asynchronous creative generation and long-running tasks, focusing on performance, observability, scalability, and security.
- Develop shared evaluations and live quality monitoring, including model-based assessment of image and video outputs.
- Take end-to-end ownership of features, from identifying user needs and prototyping to shipping and production support, collaborating with product, design, and engineering teams.
Requirements
- Demonstrated exceptional engineering skills, including shipped products, solved complex problems, and owned systems.
- Strong backend engineering skills, experience operating production systems, and solid fundamentals in APIs, cloud infrastructure, storage, and asynchronous processing.
- Hands-on experience developing agents, with an understanding of prompts, tools, execution logic, evaluations, and the challenges of reliable, secure operation.
- Evidence of independent, end-to-end ownership and comfort working across the full stack, including frontend delivery when necessary.
- Good product judgment, clear communication, and enthusiasm for creative agents.
- Familiarity with HTTP, WebSockets, and asynchronous workers is beneficial.
- Experience with multimodal generation, creative editors, MCP, or building products in a small, fast-moving team is a plus.
