About the job
This is a full-stack role focused on building and owning user-facing AI product experiences end-to-end. You will be responsible for everything from the interface a user interacts with to the underlying application logic, APIs, data models, and model calls. The role emphasizes rapid iteration, continuous shipping to production, and leveraging AI as a primary tool for development. You will work directly with designers, PMs, and research engineers, transforming ambiguous product ideas into working prototypes and iterating based on usage data. The ideal candidate is comfortable with ambiguity, has a strong bias for action, and is eager to build and learn quickly.
Responsibilities
- Own a user-facing surface end-to-end, including interaction, design, frontend, application logic, APIs, data models, and search/model calls.
- Ship code to production continuously, with new engineers typically having code in front of users within their first week.
- Build with AI as a primary tool, using agents and coding models to increase development speed and applying sound judgment to their output.
- Translate ambiguous product ideas into working prototypes and iterate based on real usage data and evaluations.
- Improve the quality of owned surfaces in terms of reliability, latency, and overall craft.
- Collaborate directly with designers, product managers, and research engineers.
Requirements
- 1+ years of professional software engineering experience or strong internship experience shipping production code at scale.
- Proficiency in at least one backend language (e.g., Python, Go) with experience in services, APIs, and relational data modeling.
- Comfort working with React and TypeScript on the frontend.
- Demonstrated experience in building production software, side projects with users, open-source contributions, or research turned into software.
- Comfort with ambiguity and a proactive approach to starting incremental development.
- Hands-on experience with AI products and an understanding of their limitations in product development.
