About the job
n8n is seeking an Internal Context Engineer to build and operate the company's shared context infrastructure, referred to as the "company brain." This role is crucial for enabling both people and AI agents to reliably access accurate, well-structured, and appropriately governed knowledge across the organization. You will be responsible for shaping how knowledge is structured, contributed, accessed, and maintained, forming the context layer for n8n's agentic future. This involves designing the information architecture, onboarding and enabling teams to contribute knowledge, operating the context platform, and building for long-term trust and reuse.
Responsibilities
- Define the taxonomy, structure, contributor guidelines, and templates for company knowledge.
- Establish standards for easy navigation, maintenance, and use of knowledge, preventing duplication.
- Evolve knowledge standards as functions, sources, and agentic use cases grow.
- Onboard functions to the company brain and train champions for knowledge maintenance.
- Provide guidance, templates, and support for non-technical contributors.
- Partner with the Internal AI Enablement Lead to scale knowledge practices.
- Configure and operate ingestion from qualitative sources like Slack, Gong, Drive, and Notion.
- Own day-to-day platform configuration and basic troubleshooting, escalating complex issues.
- Partner with IT, Security, and Legal to define access requirements for sensitive knowledge.
- Keep content structures, guidelines, and freshness current.
- Ensure the company brain becomes a trusted source of context.
- Provide product feedback to the context platform vendor and anticipate future agent needs.
Requirements
- Proven experience designing structured content or knowledge programs at scale, including taxonomies, style guides, contributor guidelines, templates, or information architecture.
- Hands-on experience with knowledge or context systems, understanding how to make fragmented qualitative information reliably usable.
- Fluency in configuring and operating SaaS knowledge or context platforms, working with APIs and integrations, and troubleshooting basic issues.
- Track record of training non-technical stakeholders and enabling them to maintain high-quality content.
- Comfort partnering with IT, Security, and Legal on access requirements and compliance-sensitive data flows.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to set quality standards for knowledge.
- Familiarity with Qontext.ai or a comparable agent-context platform (nice-to-have).
- Experience with or understanding of Model Context Protocol (MCP) (nice-to-have).
- Background in knowledge management, metadata, or data governance (nice-to-have).
