Fin, now part of Salesforce, is seeking an experienced manager to lead a team of highly-performing ML scientists. This role involves not only people management but also staying close to the technical work, providing guidance, and potentially contributing to code reviews. The AI Group is responsible for defining new ML products, researching algorithms, and rapidly prototyping solutions for customers. The team moves quickly, often shipping to beta within weeks of successful offline testing, and has a product-focussed approach, applying machine learning from classic supervised models to fine-tuned LLMs, always measuring real customer impact.
Responsibilities
- Manage, mentor, and coach a team of 10+ ML scientists across multiple offices.
- Collaborate with ML, engineering, product, and design leaders to shape team strategy and product impact.
- Enable team productivity, performance, and reliability.
- Expand the team and promote its brand internally and externally through recruitment and event planning.
Requirements
- Experience leading, developing, and supporting ML teams that deliver impact quickly.
- 5+ year track record of individual contributions in ML, AI, NLP, or data-related fields.
- Excellent applied ML and coding skills.
- Ability to thrive in an ambiguous environment with a high degree of autonomy.
- Strong communication skills, both within technical teams and across disciplines.
- MSc or PhD in an ML-related field, or equivalent knowledge.
