Cresta is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer specializing in AI Agents to join their team in the UK. This role focuses on building state-of-the-art AI agents that solve practical customer problems using the latest LLM and AI agent technologies. You will be responsible for deploying these agents, integrating them with external systems, and providing technical expertise to ensure successful, cost-effective, secure, and reliable solutions. The position requires strong engineering skills, adaptability, and customer engagement, working closely with customers and internal software and machine learning engineers to drive high-impact deployments and improve the core AI platform.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, deploy, and optimize AI agents using Cresta's platform.
- Integrate AI agents with external systems like APIs, databases, and CRMs.
- Optimize AI agent performance, including fine-tuning prompts and configurations.
- Troubleshoot AI agent issues in complex enterprise environments.
- Gather technical requirements from customers and stakeholders.
- Translate business needs into AI Agent solutions.
- Conduct demos and present proof-of-concepts to prospective customers.
- Gather feedback and iteratively refine solutions.
- Define project milestones and create implementation plans.
- Coordinate project execution with internal teams for on-time delivery.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams, influencing the roadmap.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define agent goals and iterate based on feedback.
- Serve as a technical advisor to customers on AI agent best practices, architecture, security, and scalability.
- Shape product capabilities to maximize customer ROI.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of full-time experience in software development, consulting, AI/ML engineering, system integration, or as a Forward Deployed Engineer.
- Proficiency in Python and Golang.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering techniques.
- Strong understanding of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Hands-on experience building RAG systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure).
- Experience with DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring).
- Hands-on experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to use data-driven decision-making, including A/B testing and performance monitoring.
- Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments.
