Cresta is seeking a Senior Forward Deployed Engineer specializing in AI Agents to join their team in Berlin, Germany. This role focuses on developing and deploying state-of-the-art AI agents that solve practical customer problems using LLMs and AI agent systems. You will work closely with customers and internal engineering teams to ensure high-impact deployments, integrate agents with external systems, and optimize their performance. The position requires strong engineering skills, adaptability, customer engagement, and a self-driven, analytical approach to leveraging AI in practical applications.
Responsibilities
- Develop, configure, deploy, and optimize AI agents using Cresta's platform.
- Integrate AI agents with external systems (APIs, databases, CRMs) for seamless workflow.
- Optimize AI agent performance, including prompt tuning and troubleshooting in enterprise environments.
- Gather technical requirements from customers and stakeholders to translate business needs into AI solutions.
- Conduct demos and present proof-of-concepts, gather feedback, and iteratively refine solutions.
- Define project milestones, create implementation plans, and coordinate execution with internal teams.
- Provide feedback to product and engineering teams based on real-world deployment learnings.
- Collaborate with Product Managers to define agent goals and shape product capabilities.
- Serve as a technical advisor to customers on AI agent best practices, architecture, security, and scalability.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3+ years of experience in software development, consulting, AI/ML engineering, system integration, or as a Forward Deployed Engineer.
- Proficiency in Python and Golang, with the ability to write clean, efficient code.
- Familiarity with AI/ML concepts.
- Hands-on experience with large language models (LLMs) and prompt engineering techniques.
- Strong understanding of AI agent frameworks, function calling, and retrieval-augmented generation (RAG).
- Hands-on experience building AI agent systems.
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, or Azure) and DevOps practices (CI/CD, containerization, monitoring).
- Hands-on experience integrating systems via APIs, webhooks, and data pipelines.
- Excellent communication and project management skills.
- Ability to use data-driven decision-making for solution refinement.
- Ability to thrive in cross-functional environments.
