WorkOS is seeking a frontend-leaning Product Engineer to help shape and build Passport, a product that simplifies accessing work applications. You will be responsible for building seamless user experiences for both employees and administrators, managing access control and identity workflows. This role involves hands-on engineering across the stack, working directly with customers to understand their needs and translate complex requirements into intuitive interfaces. You will also contribute to defining product strategy and carrying features through to production, operating in an AI-native engineering environment and leveraging AI tools for development.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with customers, solutions engineering, and go-to-market teams to understand identity and device setups, identify friction points, and prioritize improvements.
- Develop onboarding and access management experiences for employees and administrators.
- Own features from implementation through release and iteration, making pragmatic technical tradeoffs.
- Partner with designers, backend engineers, and security engineers to simplify complex access workflows.
- Contribute to defining how AI agents access company tools and ensure clear configuration.
Requirements
- 5+ years of industry software development experience, including shipping user-facing products.
- Strong frontend engineering skills, including accessible interfaces, state management, and performance optimization.
- Full-stack capability, including API design, data modeling, authorization implementation, and debugging.
- Strong product sense and judgment to understand customer needs and make thoughtful tradeoffs.
- Excellent product taste to shape product functionality and user experience.
- Clear communication and independent judgment in ambiguous situations.
- Curiosity to learn unfamiliar systems and collaborate across disciplines.
- Bonus: Experience with identity, authentication, authorization, or enterprise integrations (SAML, OIDC, SCIM).
- Bonus: Experience building desktop applications or device-management workflows.
- Bonus: Experience in B2B SaaS, developer tools, or employee/administrator products, especially at an early stage.
