Wayve is building the leading AI platform for autonomous driving, pioneering an end-to-end AI approach that enables vehicles to learn directly from real-world experience. The Driving Product team specifically focuses on developing the AI driver's core behaviors, taking models from data and training through evaluation and on-road validation, and shipping them into cars on aggressive timelines. This role involves owning key parts of the training model lifecycle, from data curation to iteration planning, and developing AI driver model architectures and training algorithms to enhance driving behaviors for various levels of autonomy.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI driver model architecture and training algorithms to enhance driving behaviors.
- Own key parts of the training model lifecycle, including evaluation strategy and success metrics.
- Mine, curate, and implement data schemes for real-world and synthetic data to support training.
- Run and analyze on-road and offline experiments to drive model improvements.
- Build production-ready ML systems with strong software engineering practices.
- Work with multi-sensor inputs such as camera, radar, and lidar.
Requirements
- Proven track record training deep learning models with end-to-end ownership (data, training, evaluation, iteration).
- Experience taking ML models into production, considering real-world constraints, quality, and safety.
- Strong Python skills and hands-on experience with modern ML frameworks.
- Comfortable shipping production-facing ML.
- Background in end-to-end autonomous driving/embodied AI or large-scale product ML systems.
- Experience with reinforcement learning or behavioral cloning.
- Familiarity with model compression and deploying ML to embedded systems (nice to have).
