We are seeking a Model Release Engineer to join our Model Integration and Release Team. This team is responsible for building the platform that moves Wayve’s AI Driver models from development through to release. You will work across the full model lifecycle, connecting systems and teams to create a scalable, reliable, and transparent path to production, enabling faster and more confident model deployment. This role involves designing and building Python services, integrating feature candidates, coordinating training and testing, and productionizing services on Azure and Kubernetes.
Responsibilities
- Design and build Python services and microservices to orchestrate the model-release workflow.
- Integrate feature candidates into release branches and automate readiness checks.
- Connect with training platforms and APIs to coordinate training steps.
- Trigger simulation and on-road tests, collect results, and surface quality gates and approvals.
- Productionize services on Azure and Kubernetes, focusing on availability, scalability, performance, monitoring, and alerting.
- Utilize AI coding agents to investigate issues, automate tasks, and accelerate delivery.
Requirements
- Strong software or platform engineering experience building reliable production services or microservices, ideally in Python.
- Hands-on experience with Kubernetes, cloud-native infrastructure, and production service operations; Azure experience is a plus.
- Strong system-design skills across distributed workflows, APIs, orchestration, and multi-system integrations.
- Established observability using metrics, logging, tracing, monitoring, and alerting.
- Ability to collaborate effectively across organizational boundaries and agree on dependable interfaces.
- Confidence and practical use of AI coding agents or LLM tools in daily engineering workflow.
- Experience with MLOps, model productionization, training pipelines, evaluation, simulation, or model-release workflows is beneficial.
- Front-end development experience, particularly with React, is also beneficial.
