About the job

Veeam is seeking an AI & Automation Engineering Intern for Summer 2027 to join their Center of Expertise (CoE) team. This is a hands-on, build-focused role where you will prototype AI-assisted tools, agents, and automations to help a small, fast-moving team scale its impact. The goal is to create solutions that reduce manual effort and improve core processes, with the expectation that your work will continue to be used after your internship concludes. You will also evaluate AI platforms and tooling, document your work for future maintenance, and present your findings to leadership.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and test AI-driven tools, agents, and workflow automations to reduce manual effort.
  • Partner with team leads to identify repetitive work and convert it into automated or AI-assisted solutions.
  • Build automation around internal feedback loops to improve information flow between teams.
  • Evaluate AI platforms, frameworks, and tooling, and make practical recommendations.
  • Document and hand off developed solutions for future maintenance and scaling.
  • Present work, results, and recommendations to CoE leadership at the end of the internship.

Requirements

  • Currently pursuing a Bachelor's degree as a rising Junior or Senior, or a graduate student in a related technical field (e.g., Computer Science, Software Engineering, Data Science).
  • Excellent written, verbal, and communication skills.
  • Hands-on experience with at least one programming language, preferably Python, through coursework, personal projects, or prior internships.
  • Familiarity with AI and large language model concepts, with demonstrated curiosity for applying them.
  • Comfort working with APIs, scripting, and connecting systems.
  • Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office.
  • Ability to work independently with limited direction in a fast-paced environment; must be a motivated self-starter.

Benefits

  • Paid Company Holidays
  • Tech Stipend
  • 8 Hours of Paid Volunteer Time
  • Personal and Professional Development opportunities
  • Access to Enterprise-Grade Software and cutting-edge AI products
