About the job
The Conversation Platform team is building a comprehensive platform for Stripe merchants, focusing on automating simple tasks and assisting with complex ones. This includes features like customizing landing pages, enabling natural language interaction with the Stripe API, and automating issue resolution. The team is developing Retrieval-Augmented Generation (RAG) systems using the latest Large Language Models (LLMs) and fine-tuning their own models, managing the entire lifecycle from ideation to production deployment.
Responsibilities
- Drive an ambitious vision for AI/ML to benefit users.
- Set the technical and process direction for the team aligned with business goals.
- Brainstorm and coordinate product integrations with partner teams.
- Propose new ideas and build prototypes.
- Contribute to the internal and external ML community.
- Hire and develop a world-class team to deliver high-quality ML systems.
- Coach engineers to foster career growth and maintain high standards.
Requirements
- At least 4 years of experience managing ML teams.
- Experience working as a Machine Learning Engineer, Applied Scientist, or equivalent Individual Contributor.
- Proven ability to lead by example in high-growth, high-impact, ambiguous environments.
- Experience building and shipping ML systems.
- High standards for working with production systems.
- Thrive in a collaborative cross-functional environment.
- Experience shipping LLM and RAG systems.
