Scope Labs is seeking a Forward Deployed Engineer to join their team in New York City. In this role, you will be embedded directly with startup customers, owning the entire technical relationship from the outset. You will be responsible for deploying cutting-edge AI tooling into real startup workflows, ensuring their success and driving value. Responsibilities
- Own the full technical customer lifecycle, from initial deployment through activation and ongoing utilization.
- Identify and champion high-impact AI use cases by working with startup engineering teams.
- Integrate AI solutions into customer workflows to accelerate their processes.
- Act as the internal voice of the customer, relaying patterns, friction points, and product insights to shape the roadmap.
- Represent Scope Labs in the field, operating with autonomy and strong judgment.
Requirements
- 3+ years in a technical, customer-facing role (e.g., Forward Deployed Engineer, Solutions Engineer, Software Engineer with consulting/startup experience).
- Strong proficiency in Python and/or TypeScript with a track record of shipping production software.
- Hands-on experience deploying or integrating AI tooling (LLMs, AI agents, AI-native developer tools) into real workflows.
- High agency, comfortable operating in ambiguous environments with limited direction.
- Strong communication skills across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Team-first attitude and ability to manage multiple customer engagements.
