Rula is seeking a Staff Forward Deployed Engineer to join their remote-first team. This role focuses on leveraging AI to automate manual tasks for business and clinical teams, aiming to significantly reduce time spent on operational work. You will embed within teams to understand their workflows, build and deploy AI-powered tools, and ensure their successful adoption. A key aspect of this role is privacy-by-design, especially given the sensitive nature of mental healthcare data. The goal is to create reusable AI building blocks that accelerate efficiency across the organization.
Responsibilities
- Embed with business and clinical teams to understand their workflows and identify opportunities for AI automation.
- Design, build, and deploy AI-powered tools to automate manual tasks, reducing operational time.
- Ensure successful adoption and independent use of deployed tools by teams.
- Develop reusable AI components and building blocks to accelerate future deployments.
- Implement privacy-by-design principles, including the use of synthetic/masked data and isolation of clinical content.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience shipping production-quality software systems with end-to-end ownership.
- Proven track record of shipping tools or products used weekly by customers or business teams.
- Experience in customer-centric discovery through observation, interviews, or data analysis.
- Daily use of coding agents with rigorous evaluation practices and privacy-by-design standards.
- Experience with synthetic/masked data and isolating clinical content from operational tools.
