This role is crucial for building the factory that ships every feature, focusing on an end-to-end system where coding agents can pick up, build, test, review, and deploy tasks safely and at speed. You will own the developer experience, platform infrastructure, and reliability, shaping the foundations of our AI-native platform and multiplying the output of every engineer and agent.
Responsibilities
- Own the developer experience and factory, including build, test, deploy, and local development loops for engineers and agents.
- Build agent-safe environments with sandboxes, guardrails, and context for autonomous agent operations.
- Own end-to-end reliability, including SLOs, on-call health, observability, and incident response.
- Manage cloud infrastructure and costs, focusing on AWS scalability and spend visibility.
- Design and evolve platform capabilities to support multiple teams and contributors.
- Remove systemic bottlenecks to improve engineering-wide efficiency.
- Share platform expertise, educate the engineering team, and facilitate contributions to infrastructure and platform changes.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a platform builder with a strong focus on developer experience and owning the 'factory' process.
- Product-minded approach, prioritizing platform work based on downstream impact.
- Deep expertise in platform and infrastructure, including developer experience, CI/CD, build/deploy tooling, and cloud infrastructure.
- Experience owning reliability metrics like SLOs, on-call health, observability, and incident response without a dedicated SRE team.
- Demonstrated ability to improve teams beyond your own through education and setting standards.
- Experience building AI coding agents, environments, guardrails, and evaluation frameworks.
- Familiarity with AI coding tools like Claude Code, Cursor, or Codex.
- Proficiency in cloud infrastructure (AWS, Vercel, Terraform, Kubernetes) and CI/CD (Github Actions, Octopus Deploy).
- Experience with observability tools (Datadog) and databases (PostgreSQL, MongoDB).
- Strong understanding of frontend (React, Vue.js, Typescript) and backend (Express.js, Node.js, Typescript, Python) technologies.
