PALO IT is seeking a Data Architect in CDMX to design, evolve, and optimize data architecture for innovative, scalable, and secure solutions. This role is part of a global technology consultancy with a trademarked, AI-first approach, focusing on building the AI-first frontier enterprise. The Data Architect will play a crucial role in shaping data strategy and architecture, ensuring alignment with business and IT strategy, and designing enterprise data models. The position requires a strong understanding of data governance, privacy, and quality, as well as expertise in data integration and design to ensure interoperability and a comprehensive data view. The role also involves acting as a technical reference for teams, promoting best practices, and translating business needs into scalable data solutions, with an expectation to utilize Generative AI coding tools.
Responsibilities
- Define and document the organization’s data architecture aligned with business and IT strategy.
- Design enterprise data models and assess data technologies based on evolving business needs.
- Implement policies for data governance, ensuring compliance with data regulations and facilitating the adoption of metadata management tools.
- Architect solutions for data integration, ensuring interoperability across domains and delivering a comprehensive data view.
- Act as a technical reference for teams, promoting best practices and translating business needs into scalable data solutions.
- Utilize Generative AI coding tools for tasks like code scaffolding and documentation generation.
- Apply best practices for reliable engineering outcomes and validate outputs.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechatronics Engineering, Applied Mathematics, Software Engineering, Computer Science, or related fields.
- 10+ years of experience in data engineering.
- 3+ years designing cloud-based data architectures (Azure, AWS, or GCP).
- 2+ years in data architecture, enterprise data modeling, or data governance.
- Experience leading data model design for various architectures (Data Warehouse, Data Lake, etc.).
- In-depth knowledge of data governance frameworks, including compliance and quality.
- Proficiency in conceptual, logical, and physical data modeling.
- Experience with Data Warehouse, Data Lake, and Data Mesh architectures.
- Familiarity with data lineage, quality, and metadata management.
- Experience with Azure Synapse, Purview, Unity Catalog, Cosmos DB.
- Proficiency in SQL, Python, JSON, Java, Scala.
- Experience with Infrastructure as Code (IaC) tools like Terraform and Azure DevOps.
- Systemic thinking and ability to manage complexity.
- Excellent cross-functional communication skills.
- Technical leadership and a strong focus on scalability and reuse.
