The NVIDIA PerfTech team is seeking a Senior C++ Software Engineer to develop the next generation of AI-powered developer tools. This role involves extending our developer-tools ecosystem into agentic software, focusing on building production-quality C++ components and integrations for NVIDIA's AI knowledge and developer-productivity service, Genie. You will contribute to agentic workflows and retrieval systems designed to help engineers find information, understand complex systems, and improve their productivity.
Responsibilities
- Architect and develop production-quality C++ components, APIs, and integrations for AI-powered developer tools.
- Build reliable, performance-sensitive systems connecting C++ tools with AI retrieval and agentic capabilities.
- Design interfaces between C++ applications and AI services via Python, MCP, REST APIs, and structured tool calling.
- Contribute to agentic workflows, retrieval systems, ingestion pipelines, evaluation infrastructure, and enterprise integrations.
- Drive technical initiatives from exploration to production deployment, collaborating with multidisciplinary teams.
- Mentor engineers and establish best practices for AI-powered systems.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of professional experience developing complex production software in modern C++.
- Strong knowledge of software architecture, concurrency, debugging, performance optimization, and API design.
- Experience owning complex systems from design through deployment and operation.
- Practical experience with AI-powered applications, agentic workflows, developer tools, or retrieval systems.
- Ability to integrate native C++ applications with Python-based services and APIs.
- Excellent communication skills and ability to lead technical initiatives, clarify requirements, and mentor engineers.
