The Application Modernization Platform (AMP) team is focused on transforming legacy applications into modern, microservices-based architectures on MongoDB. This involves building a dedicated platform and infrastructure to accelerate this transition, enabling a "build once, run anywhere" model for an AI-powered modernization suite. The team will architect the platform foundation and infrastructure to ensure seamless operation across diverse client environments, regardless of security or network constraints. This high-visibility initiative offers the opportunity to solve unique distributed systems puzzles and shape the future of how global enterprises leverage data and AI.
Responsibilities
- Design and build automated frameworks to validate functional equivalence, performance benchmarks, and data integrity.
- Leverage LLMs for unit test generation and build contract testing frameworks.
- Contribute high-quality, well-tested code to the modernization and framework team and its surrounding services.
- Collaborate with Product Management, engineers, and designers to build and deliver on the product roadmap.
- Participate in code reviews to enforce best practices and patterns.
- Troubleshoot and resolve complex technical issues in distributed systems.
- Provide and solicit feedback on technical design documents and pull requests.
- Perform tasks related to CI/CD, quality, and testing.
Requirements
- 3-4 years of commercial software development experience with at least one JVM language (preferably Java) and the Spring ecosystem.
- Expertise integrating Large Language Models (LLMs) into the developer workflow for automated unit test generation and edge-case discovery.
- Experience building developer tools, infrastructure, or complex testing frameworks.
- Solid experience in software architecture and development.
- Deep expertise in application/database modernization with proven ability to design and implement frameworks ensuring database state equivalence.
- Understanding of change data capture, event-driven database interception, and state comparison algorithms.
- Strong Spring Boot (or equivalent), MongoDB (or equivalent), and JDBC/JPA skills.
- Extensive experience with relational and document data modeling.
- Hands-on experience with at least one SQL database (e.g., Postgres, MySQL) and one document database (e.g., MongoDB).
- Good understanding of algorithms, data structures, and their time/space complexity.
- Curiosity, a positive attitude, and a drive to continue learning.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
