As a Senior Lead Software Engineer within the Infrastructure Platform, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on enhancing, building, and delivering market-leading technology products securely, stably, and scalably. You will drive significant business impact through your technical expertise and problem-solving skills, tackling diverse challenges across multiple technologies and applications. This role involves providing technical guidance, developing high-quality production code, and leading the adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical guidance and direction to business and technical teams, contractors, and vendors.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review code written by others.
- Drive adoption and governance of approved AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
- Establish measurable validation standards for AI-assisted development, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
- Promote the reuse of proven patterns and automation within the SDLC/TLM toolchain.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation at scale.
- Contribute to the engineering community as an advocate of firmwide frameworks, tools, and practices.
- Influence peers and decision-makers regarding the use of leading-edge technologies.
- Foster a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied experience with formal training or certification on software engineering concepts.
- 10+ years of Java full-stack development experience with at least 3 years of technical leadership.
- Expert-level proficiency in RESTful API design and implementation using Java 11+, Spring Boot, Spring Framework, and Hibernate/JPA.
- Strong front-end development skills in React.
- Solid understanding of relational databases (PostgreSQL, MySQL, Oracle).
- Experience with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or GCP) and containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Demonstrated experience leading the effective use of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools for coding, code review, and test acceleration.
- Ability to set team expectations for validating AI outputs for correctness, performance, and security.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
- Experience coaching senior engineers/leads on compliant AI usage patterns and controls.
- Proficiency in AI-assisted coding using tools like GitHub Copilot or similar AI pair-programming assistants.
- Ability to evaluate, validate, and refine AI-generated code for quality, security, and performance.
- Strong prompt engineering skills for crafting effective prompts for LLMs to generate accurate, efficient, and secure code.
- Experience leveraging AI tools to accelerate development workflows, automate repetitive tasks, and enhance team productivity.
