As a Software Engineer III at JPMorganChase within the Asset & Wealth Management, you serve as a seasoned member of an agile team to design and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You are responsible for carrying out critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas within various business functions in support of the firm’s business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Execute standard software solution design, development, and technical troubleshooting.
- Write secure and high-quality code using at least one programming language with limited guidance.
- Leverage enterprise-authorized AI coding assist tools to improve code quality, delivery speed, and productivity, while validating outputs.
- Design, develop, code, and troubleshoot with consideration of upstream and downstream systems and technical implications.
- Lead the design and development of an agentic production data platform with full stack application ownership.
- Develop AI skills, agents, and MCP servers in support of product capabilities to deliver business value.
- Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to improve value realized by automation.
- Apply technical troubleshooting to break down solutions and solve technical problems of basic complexity.
- Gather, analyze, and draw conclusions from large, diverse data sets to identify problems and contribute to decision-making.
- Learn and apply system processes, methodologies, and skills for the development of secure, stable code and systems.
Requirements
- Formal training or certification on software engineering concepts and 3+ years of applied experience.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools, with demonstrated ability to critically evaluate and validate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling of inputs/outputs, and adherence to resiliency and security expectations.
- Frontend experience with React or Angular with TypeScript.
- Backend experience with Python, Java, or Kotlin with REST or GraphQL.
- Data Engineering/Platform experience with Spark, Kafka, Airflow, Snowflake, and AWS.
- Platform engineering experience with containers, CI/CD, observability, and controlled release practices.
- Applied AI with LLMs experience, including Claude Code, Agent, Skills, RAG, embeddings, prompt or configuration management, evaluation and guardrails, and agent tool or function calling.
