As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase, you will lead and mentor multiple technical teams focused on advancing financial technologies within the Commercial & Investment Bank - Payments (Data Analytics & Regulatory Compliance) Team. You will be responsible for designing and delivering secure, stable, and scalable technology products, driving critical technology solutions across various business functions to meet firm objectives. This role involves setting and scaling operating practices for AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation, establishing measurable expectations, and ensuring the reuse of proven technology assets.
Responsibilities
- Provide direction, oversight, and coaching to software engineers working on complex tasks.
- Manage team resources, budget, tactical operations, and process implementation.
- Scale AI-assisted engineering and SDLC automation practices across teams to improve delivery speed, quality, and operational outcomes.
- Establish measurable expectations for throughput, defect reduction, and reliability.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC tools, including AI-assisted development, to drive efficiency and support capacity initiatives.
- Ensure successful collaboration across teams and stakeholders.
- Identify and mitigate issues, escalating as necessary.
- Provide input to leadership on budget, approach, and technical considerations for operational improvements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of software engineering experience with formal training or certification.
- 2+ years of experience leading technologists to solve complex technical problems.
- Hands-on experience in system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Experience developing, debugging, and maintaining code in Java and Python.
- Experience with SQL and PostgreSQL.
- Experience with AWS.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise AI-assisted software development tools and critically evaluating AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use, data sensitivity, and secure handling of inputs/outputs.
- Knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Solid understanding of agile methodologies, CI/CD, application resiliency, and security.
