About the job
As a Lead Software Engineer within the Commercial & Investment Bank Digital Channel's team, you will be instrumental in building autonomous agent capabilities. These agents will be responsible for planning, executing, validating, and submitting code changes in bulk. The role emphasizes the development of evaluation harnesses, PR-provenance controls, CI/CD integrations, and operational readiness to safely scale machine-authored changes across various scenarios like runtime upgrades, framework migrations, security remediation, and standards adoption.
Responsibilities
- Design and integrate AI-driven remediation workflows into enterprise CI/CD pipelines, covering trigger design, build/test gating, deployment readiness, failure handling, and evidence capture.
- Build and operate an evaluation harness to prove agent quality and delivery readiness at scale, including metrics like success rate, regression rate, and pipeline pass rate.
- Implement the PR-provenance contract end-to-end, managing branch creation, CI/CD hook integration, build verification, automated test evidence, audit trails, and rollback mechanisms.
- Own specific subsystems within the harness, such as evaluation fixture management, replay tooling, regression corpora, quality signal aggregation, and failure triage.
- Co-own the agent harness's reliability and observability, including metrics, logs, traces, alerting, and failure pattern analysis.
- Contribute to agent-skill design reviews, focusing on evaluation coverage and provenance implications.
- Support the Standards and Tooling pillars by integrating at-scale rollouts of new lint rules, template upgrades, and quality gates into the evaluation harness and CI/CD flow.
- Instrument value, adoption, and operational metrics for evaluation and provenance subsystems.
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to enhance code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
- Apply knowledge of Software Development Life Cycle tools, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities, to maximize automation value.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied experience in developing, debugging, and maintaining code in a corporate environment using languages like Java, Python, Shell scripting, SQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle, SQL Server, or MySQL.
- Experience contributing to a CI/CD, DevOps, or release-engineering platform, including release pipelines, build/test automation, signed-attestation systems, or deployment controls.
- Strong hands-on experience with Java, Spring Boot, Kafka, API development, Python, and Shell scripting for building automation services and tooling.
- Hands-on experience using enterprise-authorized AI-assisted software development tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, Claude Code) and the ability to critically evaluate AI-generated outputs.
- Understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, resiliency, and guiding peers on safe usage.
- Hands-on experience with AWS or Azure cloud platforms, Kubernetes, Docker, SQL databases, and artifact repositories.
- Comfort operating end-to-end on a subsystem under senior design direction, including implementation, deployment, observability, and production support.
- Working understanding of Git internals, branching workflows, PR and merge tooling, and repository governance.
