As a Lead Software Engineer - Agentic AI, you will be an integral part of an agile team focused on delivering trusted technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. You will collaborate with senior stakeholders to design and drive the growth of Data and Analytics solutions, enabling data-driven sales growth strategies. This role involves hands-on engineering to drive intelligence automation and build agentic AI on the firm's agent runtime platform. You will be responsible for delivering critical technology solutions across multiple technical areas to support business objectives.
Responsibilities
- Execute creative software solutions, design, development, and technical troubleshooting, thinking beyond conventional approaches.
- Build and operate agentic solutions end-to-end, including agent execution, sandboxing, A2A and MCP integrations, memory layers, retrieval, and evaluation harnesses.
- Deliver full-stack product surfaces using Typescript/Next.js and a design system.
- Develop secure, high-quality production code and review/debug code written by others.
- Drive team adoption of AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality, delivery speed, and operational outcomes.
- Apply knowledge of the Software Development Life Cycle toolchain, including AI-assisted development and automation capabilities.
- Identify opportunities to eliminate or automate remediation of recurring issues to improve operational stability.
- Implement permission-aware, auditable execution for agents, including fine-grained authorization and runtime policy checks.
- Lead communities of practice to drive awareness and use of new technologies and mentor engineers.
- Contribute to a team culture of diversity, opportunity, inclusion, and respect.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied experience with formal training or certification in software engineering concepts.
- Hands-on experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability.
- Advanced proficiency in at least one programming language, with strong Python required.
- Experience delivering production React (Next.js) web applications, including real-time UI and component/design systems.
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of AI-assisted software development tools and setting team expectations for validating AI outputs.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity, secure handling, and adherence to resiliency/security expectations.
- Hands-on experience building LLM-powered or agentic systems, including tracing, evaluations, and guardrails.
- Proficiency in all aspects of the Software Development Life Cycle.
- Demonstrated proficiency in software applications and technical processes within a technical discipline (e.g., cloud, AI, ML).
- In-depth knowledge of the financial services industry and their IT systems.
- Practical cloud-native experience, with production Kubernetes expected.
