We are seeking an AI Lead Software Engineer to join our Corporate Technology team at JPMorganChase. In this role, you will be a key technical leader responsible for designing and delivering secure, scalable, and high-performing technology solutions. Responsibilities
- Lead the design, development, and delivery of high-quality software solutions for complex business problems.
- Drive architectural decisions and technical direction for scalability, resiliency, and availability of distributed systems.
- Build and maintain secure, production-grade services with a focus on code quality through reviews and testing.
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance and feedback to enhance team capabilities.
- Implement CI/CD automation and reliability patterns for safe, frequent releases.
- Develop data-intensive services and workflows using Java or Scala with large-scale datasets.
- Design and build AI-enabled applications, including RAG patterns and agentic workflows, with evaluation and guardrails.
- Drive team adoption of enterprise-authorized AI-assisted engineering practices to improve code quality and delivery speed.
- Apply knowledge of SDLC toolchain, including AI-assisted development, to enhance automation value.
- Establish validation standards for AI outputs, including secure coding, peer review, and automated testing.
Requirements
- 5+ years of applied experience in software engineering concepts.
- Hands-on experience designing and delivering scalable, secure, resilient distributed systems in production.
- Proficiency in Java and Spring Boot.
- Working knowledge of SQL and modern UI frameworks (e.g., React).
- Strong understanding of modern architecture patterns (microservices, event-driven, API-first).
- Experience building and operating solutions on public cloud platforms (e.g., AWS) with containerization (Docker, Kubernetes).
- Experience implementing CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure as Code.
- Practical experience with API design and integration patterns (e.g., REST, GraphQL), including security and performance.
- Demonstrated experience leading effective use of approved AI-assisted software development tools.
- Strong understanding of responsible AI use in engineering workflows, including data sensitivity and secure handling.
