The position involves collaborating with engineers, analysts, and business stakeholders to move solutions from requirements to production, contributing to the data platform's evolution, and providing technical leadership through reviews and mentoring.
Responsibilities
- Build and operate production-ready Python web applications for business teams.
- Develop applications and workflows connecting AI agents to approved tools, APIs, datasets, and business systems.
- Translate business needs into working solutions, taking applications from prototype to production.
- Build and maintain front ends using AI-assisted coding tools alongside Python backend services.
- Provide backend services, documented APIs, and reusable templates for business-owned front ends.
- Establish clear ownership, support arrangements, and engineering controls for applications.
- Design APIs and application services enforcing authentication, authorization, and business rules.
- Implement evaluation, monitoring, audit trails, and safeguards for agentic workflows.
- Design, build, and enhance Python-based batch and streaming pipelines and data models.
- Own and deliver backend and data platform services using AWS.
- Build and maintain orchestration, CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Apply error handling, idempotent processing, and recovery mechanisms to improve reliability and performance.
- Contribute to standards for data quality, documentation, observability, security, and access management.
Requirements
- Strong data engineering foundations.
- Hands-on application development experience.
- Experience with AI agents.
- Experience with trusted data and business system integrations.
- Proficiency in Python.
- Experience with AI-assisted coding tools.
- Experience building secure, reusable backend services and APIs.
- Experience engineering reliable agentic workflows with evaluation, monitoring, and safeguards.
- Experience designing, building, and enhancing Python-based batch and streaming pipelines.
- Experience with AWS services (S3, Lambda, Aurora PostgreSQL, Athena, Glue, Redshift).
- Experience with orchestration, CI/CD workflows, automated testing, and deployment processes.
- Experience with robust error handling, idempotent processing, and recovery mechanisms.
- Experience with engineering and governance standards for data quality, documentation, observability, and security.
