About the job
Gigi is an agentic operating system for enterprise media buying, with its first product being an AI media manager for Amazon DSP. Since its launch, the company has grown significantly, managing substantial advertising spend for major agencies and securing backing from prominent venture investors. The founding team brings extensive experience in Amazon Ads and e-commerce, including a prior successful exit. We are seeking an AI Ads Product Builder/FDE to join our engineering team in Toronto. This role blends advertising domain knowledge, hands-on software development, and client service to build and deploy AI-powered products, workflows, and integrations within Gigi. As a Forward Deployed Engineer, you will collaborate directly with agency leaders and ads managers, working on the solutions they use daily. While not requiring deep AI research or extensive LLM experience, this is a hands-on software engineering position focused on understanding advertising business needs and translating them into functional software. You will be comfortable explaining technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders and utilizing tools like Codex, Claude Code, and Cursor as part of your development process, contributing to agent logic, backend services, data, and the customer-facing product.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with agency leaders and ads managers to understand business priorities, campaign workflows, reporting needs, and operational challenges.
- Translate advertising knowledge into practical solutions by asking insightful questions and explaining technical possibilities and tradeoffs clearly.
- Own features end-to-end, from the data layer through agent logic to the user interface.
- Build integrations with advertising tools, APIs, and data sources, managing permissions, data mapping, and operational details for reliable operation.
- Contribute to product development by identifying shared features, reusable integrations, or agency-specific configurations.
- Design and build reliable agentic systems, including tools, retrieval, memory, evaluations, guardrails, and human approval flows.
- Deliver a strong client experience by managing discovery, prototyping, implementation, and rollout in collaboration with customers and the team.
- Set clear expectations, communicate progress and setbacks, and help clients adopt new solutions.
- Use client feedback and workflow results to iteratively improve solutions.
- Travel to client locations as needed for discovery, working sessions, onboarding, and rollout support.
- Build relationships with agency leaders and end-users of Gigi.
Requirements
- Experience in ad tech and advertising, with practical knowledge of media planning, campaign management, optimization, measurement, and reporting.
- Understanding of how agencies and ads managers operate and the ability to connect technical decisions to business impact.
- Client service experience and a strong interest in helping customers succeed.
- Ability to build relationships, understand client priorities, respond constructively to feedback, and take responsibility for follow-through.
- Strong communication skills with non-technical stakeholders, including agency leaders and ads managers.
- Ability to lead discovery conversations, explain technical tradeoffs without jargon, and set realistic expectations for scope and delivery.
- Proven track record of building and shipping production software used by real customers.
- Strong full-stack software engineering experience.
