Fireworks is seeking a Member of Technical Staff for their EMEA field team. This role involves building on top of one of the world's largest inference platforms, spanning capabilities on inference and serving, tooling for fine-tuning and post-training of LLMs, and developing product features specific to the region. The ideal candidate is an excellent software engineer who prefers building product, with a strong emphasis on first principles thinking and the ability to reason about unfamiliar problems from the ground up. This is a flexible role designed for exceptional builders with 3 to 10 years of experience.
Responsibilities
- Design and ship product capabilities end-to-end, from concept to production.
- Develop capabilities on top of the serving stack, including routing, model controls, and observability.
- Ship tooling for fine-tuning and post-training of LLMs, including data pipelines and evaluation.
- Translate EMEA-specific requirements into product features, collaborating with core platform teams.
- Set the engineering standard for the regional team.
- Utilize coding agents and AI tooling as a core part of the development process, with judgment on output reliability.
- Participate in customer deployments or conversations when beneficial or interesting, though not required.
Requirements
- Demonstrated first principles and critical thinking for novel problem-solving.
- Excellent software engineering skills, with depth in backend systems and infrastructure.
- Proven track record of shipping production systems owned by the candidate.
- Strong coding proficiency in Python and at least one systems language.
- Fluent in AI-assisted and agentic engineering, understanding when to trust AI-generated output.
- Genuine interest in inference and AI infrastructure.
- 3 to 10 years of experience.
