About the job
As a Software Engineer, AI at DigitalOcean, you will join our dynamic AI team within Cloudways, dedicated to integrating cutting-edge AI capabilities into our managed hosting platform. You will report to the AI Engineering Manager and work cross-functionally with platform engineers, product managers, and infrastructure teams. In this role, you'll own the design and implementation of AI-powered features that simplify complex cloud operations, drive automation, and enhance developer experience. The ideal person will be a self-motivated engineer with 3-5 years of experience, capable of working independently on end-to-end AI solutions.
Responsibilities
- Build agents that automate workflows
- Integrate AI agents with existing Cloudways services
- Improve existing AI-driven automation and anomaly detection
- Write production code in Python and PHP
- Integrate services with databases, APIs, and backend systems
- Apply basic AI concepts like prompt engineering, RAG, and function calling
- Collaborate with product, infra, and other development teams
Requirements
- 3-5 years of experience
- Ability to work independently on end-to-end AI solutions
- Proficiency in Python and PHP
- Familiarity with prompt engineering, RAG, and function calling
