DevRev is seeking a Senior Software Engineer - Data Platform to contribute to the evolution of their AI-ready platform, "Computer." This role involves owning significant parts of the data architecture that powers DevRev Computer's memory, ensuring accurate and efficient data for insights and actions. You will design and operate scalable data systems, collaborating with engineering, AI Agent, Data Science, and Product teams to transform complex data requirements into reliable data products. This position is ideal for an experienced engineer passionate about large-scale data, distributed systems, database architecture, and performance optimization, offering substantial technical ownership and the chance to influence the direction of their agentic data platform.
Responsibilities
- Own data architecture for large-scale, high-impact projects, balancing scalability, reliability, performance, maintainability, and cost.
- Design, build, and operate scalable data pipelines and systems for data ingestion, transformation, storage, and serving.
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand data requirements and translate them into technical solutions.
- Define and manage data quality, reliability, and SLA/SLO requirements.
- Design and optimize data models, databases, and SQL workloads for performance and scalability.
- Develop frameworks, tooling, and infrastructure to simplify data product development and maintenance.
- Identify opportunities to leverage data for product and business improvements.
- Establish and promote engineering best practices for data systems (testing, observability, deployment, operations).
- Mentor engineers through technical guidance and design reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or equivalent practical experience.
- 5+ years of software or data engineering experience building production systems.
- Strong programming experience in Go, Java, C++, Python, or JavaScript.
- Strong SQL skills.
- Solid understanding of data structures, algorithms, and software engineering fundamentals.
- Experience designing and operating production-grade data pipelines or distributed data systems.
- Experience with relational and/or NoSQL databases and their performance characteristics.
- Ability to independently drive projects from design through operation.
