About the job
As a Forward Deployed Engineer at DevRev, you will collaborate closely with the pre- and post-sales Customer Experience team to develop solutions on the core platform using languages like TypeScript, JavaScript, and Python. A key aspect of this role involves building a Knowledge Graph by integrating DevRev with various SaaS and non-SaaS systems through webhooks, APIs, and real-time communication architectures. You will leverage your creativity and expertise to conceptualize and shape the application of AI, analytics, and workflows within customer processes, with a significant portion of your time spent in direct customer interaction and hands-on technical implementation.
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and launch AI agents, integrations, and automations connecting DevRev with customer tech stacks and workflows.
- Integrate DevRev with SaaS and non-SaaS platforms using APIs, webhooks, and real-time communication architectures.
- Optimize AI performance through prompt engineering, fine-tuning semantic search, and applying generative AI techniques.
- Write SQL queries, perform data analysis, and build dashboards to provide customer insights.
- Develop rapid proofs-of-concept, conduct technical demos, and iterate on solutions based on feedback.
- Collaborate with customers, engineering, product, customer success, support, and revenue teams.
- Master new tools and guide customers through critical workflows like code repository integrations and advanced configurations.
- Travel up to 80% for on-site implementations, technical workshops, and customer engagements.
Requirements
- 5+ years of experience in software development, systems integration, or platform engineering.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related technical field.
- Strong proficiency in TypeScript/JavaScript and Python, including data structures and algorithms.
- Familiarity with large language models (LLMs), prompt engineering, RAG, function calling, and agentic AI evals.
- Deep experience with large-scale data synchronization, API integration patterns (REST, GraphQL, webhooks), and event-driven architectures.
- Hands-on experience deploying on serverless and edge platforms (e.g., AWS Lambda, Google Cloud Functions) with modern DevOps practices (CI/CD, containers, observability).
- Skilled in data mapping, schema alignment, and working with heterogeneous systems, including data modeling and graph data structures.
- Experience implementing logging, error surfacing, and telemetry for debugging.
- Familiarity with Model Context Programming (MCP) for adaptive, context-aware integrations.
- Strong problem-solving skills for triaging technical and non-technical blockers.
- Experience writing concise, well-structured documentation.
- Strong written and verbal communication skills to articulate technical concepts to diverse stakeholders.
