Databricks is seeking a Senior SAP Developer to join their IT organization, which focuses on building intelligent, AI-powered platforms to enhance internal operations. This role will be instrumental in automating complex business processes within Finance, surfacing actionable insights, and orchestrating end-to-end workflows. The developer will work at the intersection of SAP and AI, creating applications, extensions, and integrations that make finance operations faster, smarter, and more automated. The vision is to reimagine finance operations so teams can focus more on strategic insights and less on manual tasks.
Responsibilities
- Develop in-app and side-by-side extensions on SAP BTP using released APIs and extension points.
- Build scalable, full-stack applications and services on the Databricks platform that integrate with SAP.
- Implement secure and resilient integrations across SAP and non-SAP systems using SAP Integration Suite, event-driven patterns, APIs, and change-data feeds.
- Embed AI-powered and agentic capabilities into Finance workflows using Databricks AI, RAG, prompt engineering, and tool calling.
- Build pipelines and extraction patterns to land SAP data in Databricks.
- Write unit and integration tests, work within CI/CD pipelines, and participate in code reviews.
- Collaborate with technical leads, functional experts, and product owners to deliver software and iterate based on feedback.
Requirements
- 6+ years of SAP development experience with at least one end-to-end SAP solution delivery in production.
- Strong command of Modern ABAP: ABAP Cloud, ABAP CDS, ABAP RESTful Application Programming Model (RAP), and OData (v2/v4).
- Working-to-advanced experience with SAP BTP runtimes and core services.
- Solid experience with SAP Fiori concepts, SAPUI5, and Fiori Elements (OData v4).
- Experience with SAP Integration Suite / API Management and event-driven patterns across hybrid landscapes.
- Strong understanding of SAP and Databricks AI capabilities, with practical knowledge of generative AI and agentic concepts (RAG, prompt engineering, tool calling).
- Comfort with Git, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing, and modern dev tooling.
- Understanding of clean-core principles for SAP extensions.
- Clear communication skills and ability to work across teams.
