About the job
Artefact UK is seeking a Director to lead their AI and Machine Learning initiatives. This role operates at the intersection of AI and data strategy, client leadership, and commercial growth, reporting to the Partners and Managing Director. You will own the AI and data agenda across a portfolio of clients, guiding Tech Leads and Managers in the day-to-day delivery of engagements. The ideal candidate is comfortable shaping AI strategy at a board level and developing playbooks for repeatable success across clients, demonstrating both strategic vision and technical depth.
Responsibilities
- Match client business opportunities and pain points to appropriate ML, AI, or data engineering solutions.
- Engage in technical discussions regarding solution architecture and implementation with client Principal Engineers and Data Scientists.
- Identify and prioritize AI use cases that create differential value, leading their development from ideation to deployment and continuous improvement.
- Build and maintain a library of reusable AI use cases and solution sets.
- Assess clients' data and analytics maturity and identify opportunities for enhancement.
- Develop playbooks for data and analytics capability building that can be applied across new clients.
- Ensure AI solutions integrate cleanly into client organizations by working with cross-functional teams.
- Build strong relationships with key client stakeholders and foster a community of data leaders.
- Lead pitches end-to-end, including shaping propositions, directing proposal development, and leading client-facing pitches and RFP responses.
- Contribute to pipeline management and opportunity prioritization.
- Stay ahead of AI and data analytics developments, bringing cutting-edge solutions and trusted advisors to clients.
- Contribute insights to shape Artefact's AI and data strategy.
- Mentor and support the development of data and AI talent within Artefact, particularly Tech Leads and Managers.
