Perplexity is seeking an Applied AI Engineer to join a mission-critical team focused on designing, building, and iterating on cutting-edge agents that power our core experience. You will develop frontier context layer applications, aiming to fulfill the curiosity of millions of users worldwide. This role involves applying state-of-the-art ML and LLM techniques to solve complex problems in personalization, contextual recommendations, and monetization, while also building frontier agent capabilities on top of Perplexity Computer.

Perplexity is looking for an experienced Machine Learning Engineer to contribute to the development of next-generation search technologies, with a particular emphasis on retrieval and ranking. This role involves architecting and building essential components of our search platform and model stack, training and evaluating various models including LLMs, and deploying these models efficiently and at scale. The engineer will also be responsible for building and optimizing RAG pipelines for grounding and answer generation, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure timely and high-quality delivery.
