Scale is seeking a Solutions Engineer to join our growing team and ensure that the world's most innovative companies become passionate, lifelong Scale customers. In this role, you will partner closely with Account Executives, Product, and Machine Learning Engineers to lead prospective customers through the pre-sales process, delivering customized demos and pilots to secure the "technical win." You will be responsible for scoping customer technical requirements, developing actionable Statements of Work (SOWs), and collaborating with the delivery team on initial implementations. Solutions Engineers are expected to be relentlessly curious about customer needs, leverage expert knowledge of Scale products and Generative AI, and build strong relationships while managing projects and providing technical expertise.
Responsibilities
- Partner with Scale Account Executives on the customer journey, delivering tailored demos and prototypes.
- Develop technical domain expertise in Generative AI/large language model applications for Enterprise use cases.
- Secure the "technical win" by unblocking technical challenges for customers.
- Interact with customers daily to understand their needs and design solutions.
- Design and develop "Scopes of Work" by breaking down customer challenges into project plans.
- Collaborate with forward-deployed Software and Machine Learning Engineers on initial post-sales agent development.
- Identify customer-specific feature requests with Account Executives and Product Managers.
- Drive strategic initiatives to improve the efficiency and effectiveness of the Solution Engineering team.
Requirements
- Strong engineering background with prior experience working with clients in a pre- or post-sales capacity.
- Prior experience developing with Python, Java, and/or other web development languages.
- Experience working in enterprise SaaS, cloud tech, finance, fintech, or similar industries in a technical capacity with end-customer engagement.
- Proven ability to act as a self-starter and independently unblock technical issues in the field.
- Presentation skills with a high degree of technical credibility.
- High level of comfort communicating effectively across internal and external organizations.
- Intellectual curiosity, empathy, and ability to operate with high velocity.
