As a Finance Systems Intern, you will contribute to the operation and enhancement of Parloa's quote-to-cash systems, which manage enterprise contracts. You will gain practical experience with systems like SAP Subscription Billing, NetSuite, and Salesforce, learning how signed agreements translate into accurate subscriptions and invoices. This full-time, 6-month internship in Berlin offers hands-on experience with a modern quote-to-cash technology stack within a rapidly growing AI company. You will have the opportunity to take a personal automation project from conception to completion, presenting your work at the end of the internship.
Responsibilities
- Set up and modify customer subscriptions based on signed contracts.
- Perform pre-billing checks on billing runs and invoices, with team review.
- Investigate and resolve errors in rating, pricing, and master data to ensure accurate customer billing.
- Maintain master data in SAP Subscription Billing, including products, rate plans, and pricing elements.
- Configure and test changes to billing systems before they are deployed to production.
- Build NetSuite saved searches, reports, and data import functionalities.
- Support month-end closing processes and financial reconciliations.
- Ensure consistency of product, billable metrics, and customer data across Salesforce, SAP, and NetSuite.
- Develop reports to identify data inconsistencies between systems.
- Reproduce and document billing and finance system issues for the team or partners.
- Write and execute test cases for new features.
- Maintain change logs and audit evidence.
- Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), process maps, and user guides for finance colleagues.
- Identify manual steps in finance processes and automate them using scripts, integrations, or AI tools.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Information Systems, Business Informatics, Industrial Engineering, Accounting, Finance, Computer Science, or a related field for the full duration of the internship.
- Available full-time for 6 months.
- Previous exposure to an ERP, billing, or CRM system (e.g., SAP, NetSuite, Salesforce, Zuora, Stripe Billing) through coursework, projects, internships, or work.
- Strong spreadsheet skills.
- Willingness to learn to interpret JSON payloads and API error messages.
- Possession of SQL or scripting experience (Python, Google Apps Script, n8n, or Zapier) is a plus.
- A systems-oriented mindset with an interest in the contract-to-invoice process.
- Ability to trace issues to their root cause.
- Precision in handling financial data.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
- Confidence to ask questions and articulate facts.
