We are seeking a Senior Scientist to spearhead research in advancing AI models and agents specifically for cybersecurity applications. This role involves enhancing capabilities like security reasoning, code and system understanding, planning, tool use, and long-horizon investigation, with the goal of applying these to critical security challenges. The ideal candidate will drive progress in underlying models, agent architectures, data strategies, training methodologies, and evaluation techniques, while also addressing the unique demands of real-world security environments such as high precision, robustness against adversaries, explainability, and privacy. This position offers a unique opportunity to shape research direction, influence future platforms, and translate foundational AI advancements into practical cybersecurity tools and workflows in collaboration with cross-functional teams.
Responsibilities
- Define and lead high-impact research projects focused on AI models and agents for cybersecurity.
- Improve AI capabilities for security reasoning, code understanding, planning, tool use, and human collaboration.
- Develop AI-powered solutions for vulnerability discovery, threat detection, malware analysis, and automated defense.
- Build and evaluate prototypes in realistic environments, measuring key performance indicators.
- Collaborate with AI, security, research, engineering, and product teams.
- Publish original research and mentor junior researchers.
- Translate AI advances into deployed capabilities.
Requirements
- Ph.D. in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
- 5+ years of relevant experience with a record of research excellence.
- Deep expertise in areas such as agentic AI, model training, machine learning for security, or software security.
- Experience defining and leading multi-disciplinary research projects and providing technical mentorship.
- Strong experimental and prototyping skills, including Python and AI/ML frameworks.
- Experience with systems software, security tooling, or large-scale data systems.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
