AI Agent Engineer

About the job

Lucis is building the operating system for human longevity, aiming to make preventive health the default for everyone in Europe. We are seeking engineers who excel at building systems end-to-end, orchestrating AI to execute tasks, and raising the overall engineering bar. In this role, you will write specifications for AI agents to execute, critically review AI-generated code, and make decisions that have a compounding impact. The exact scope of your work will be shaped collaboratively, potentially spanning mobile, infrastructure, platform, AI, or full-stack development, depending on your strengths and the company's needs. This is an opportunity to engineer at the forefront of AI integration in healthcare.

Responsibilities

  • Own full-stack vertical development from data model to API to UI, ensuring production-grade quality.
  • Translate clinical science into reproducible and auditable code.
  • Design scalable, HDS-compliant infrastructure on AWS using CDK/Terraform, capable of handling significant load increases without rework.
  • Maintain strict compliance with HDS and GDPR regulations through robust security measures.
  • Contribute to engineering culture by running rituals, mentoring, and improving spec quality.
  • Drive continuous improvement through Agile development practices and cross-team collaboration.
  • Utilize AI agents to automate tasks and focus on high-value work.

Requirements

  • Shipped at least one product from concept to launch, understanding the difference between writing code and building a system.
  • Possess two deep areas of expertise and the ability to operate across the full stack when necessary.
  • Write precise specifications that AI agents can execute correctly on the first attempt.
  • Review AI-generated code with the same rigor applied to junior engineer pull requests, checking for edge cases, security gaps, and design flaws.
  • Demonstrate a bias toward shipping and making timely decisions.
  • Genuine interest in health and preventive care.
  • Experience working in fast-moving environments and learning by doing.
  • Value feedback for continuous improvement.
  • Proficiently use AI tools to enhance speed and scope of thinking.
