About the job

AssemblyAI is seeking a Senior GTM AI Engineer to join their revenue organization. This role involves building the essential pipelines, internal tools, and AI agents that drive go-to-market strategies. You will be responsible for identifying target companies, personalizing outreach, monitoring product usage for expansion or churn signals, and maintaining CRM data integrity. The primary goal is to empower the sales team to operate with three times their current capacity by leveraging software and AI solutions.

Responsibilities

  • Write Python services, SQL models, scheduled jobs, and internal applications daily.
  • Build and manage AI agents for tasks like account research, lead qualification, outreach drafting, CRM hygiene, and usage monitoring.
  • Transform product usage data into actionable signals for sellers, including usage alerts, expansion triggers, and account health scores.
  • Develop a comprehensive account targeting system, from data sourcing to a ranked list for sales representatives.
  • Integrate existing team systems, such as CRM and enrichment providers, to ensure seamless data flow.
  • Maintain the trustworthiness of funnel data through routing rules, field governance, and attribution.
  • Prototype solutions rapidly, measure their effectiveness, and collaborate with Sales and Marketing leadership on future development.
  • Document all developed systems to ensure ongoing functionality and maintainability.

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience as a software engineer, data engineer, or growth/GTM engineer, with a track record of shipping production systems.
  • Proficiency in Python and SQL, with experience owning end-to-end production automations including APIs, webhooks, scheduled jobs, error handling, and monitoring.
  • Experience building multi-step AI agents that utilize tools, retrieval, and evaluation, beyond single-prompt interactions.
  • Daily use of AI-assisted development tools like Claude Code, with the engineering judgment to review and test generated code.
  • Strong software engineering fundamentals, including clean code, version control, code review, debugging, and systems thinking.
  • Curiosity and willingness to learn about sales operations, CRMs, and related tools.
  • A builder's mindset focused on business impact, iterative shipping, and measuring results in pipeline and revenue.
  • Low ego, high ownership, and comfort being the sole owner of an entire domain.
