Toast is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their International Mid Market team. This role is crucial for Toast's future growth, focusing on expanding the product platform in markets outside the US, including Canada, the UK, Ireland, and Australia. The engineer will work closely with customers to understand their unique needs and deliver features from conception to rollout, ensuring high code quality, architectural standards, and product excellence. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and leveraging cutting-edge AI tools to enhance development workflows and pioneer new building approaches.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain high-performing, flexible, and scalable solutions for restaurant operations.
- Ship features end-to-end, from design through monitoring and iteration.
- Collaborate effectively with Product, Design, and Engineering stakeholders.
- Leverage AI tools to enhance development velocity and pioneer new building approaches.
- Mentor less experienced engineers and improve team capabilities through design reviews and feedback.
- Contribute to a culture of innovation and productivity.
Requirements
- 5+ years of backend/full-stack experience delivering impactful products.
- Ability to integrate with frontend applications and work across the stack.
- Enthusiasm for AI-assisted development and LLM-based agents.
- Experience working with ambiguity and agile delivery methodologies.
- Passion for user satisfaction and product adoption.
- Strong software development fundamentals including code quality and unit testing.
