Tenex is seeking an Applied AI Engineer & Creator to join their team. This role is at the intersection of engineering and storytelling, where you will ship production AI systems, document your work publicly, and create educational content for operators and founders. You will build with frontier AI tools, own features end-to-end from architecture through deployment, and lead customer workshops. The emphasis is on building production systems that run independently and creating content that educates and empowers users to become operators.
Responsibilities
- Ship production AI systems and internal tools, documenting the process.
- Deliver working AI workflows by integrating into client codebases.
- Design reliable and auditable agent systems with human oversight.
- Quickly learn and adapt to unfamiliar technology stacks.
- Utilize and iterate on agentic coding tools for production systems.
- Produce videos, posts, threads, and playbooks explaining technical builds.
- Translate complex AI capabilities into accessible language for non-technical audiences.
- Lead workshops and hackathons to transition participants from observers to operators.
- Evaluate and provide informed opinions on new AI models and tools.
- Establish a cycle of building, content creation, and workshops.
- Share learnings across engagements to enhance team impact.
Requirements
- 3+ years of experience shipping production software end-to-end.
- Experience using AI coding tools in a production environment.
- Demonstrated ability to transform complex problems into scalable systems.
- Regular use of AI coding tools and deep knowledge of the current AI landscape.
- Ability to teach technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
- Creator's instinct for identifying and producing shareable content.
- Strong operational discipline for managing multiple projects and client workstreams.
- Intellectual curiosity about the evolving AI landscape.
- High ownership and a collaborative approach to improving team standards.
