Supabase is seeking a Software Engineer to join their Turso core database team. This role focuses on advancing the future of agentic databases, specifically by contributing to the Turso Open Source database and its Cloud offering. You will work on enhancing Postgres compatibility, ensuring system reliability, maintaining cloud operations, and improving scalability to support a massive increase in database usage. The ideal candidate thrives in a fast-paced, asynchronous environment and is passionate about building scalable database technologies for a world with millions of daily agent-created databases.
Responsibilities
- Drive progress on the Turso Open Source database, focusing on the Postgres compatibility layer.
- Ensure code quality and system stability through robust guarantees and testing.
- Maintain Turso Cloud operations, including the Cloud API and data plane.
- Improve the scalability of Turso Cloud operations to handle a 100x increase in databases.
Requirements
- Experience writing databases or other high-stakes low-level systems (e.g., Hypervisors, OS Kernels, storage devices).
- Experience working with remote teams and Open Source communities.
- Passion and experience for correct systems, utilizing tools like Deterministic Simulation Testing, formal verification, fuzz testing, and differential testing.
- Experience deploying, operating, and debugging large-scale software systems in production on cloud environments like AWS & Kubernetes.
- Experience improving observability, reliability, and performance of complex cloud systems.
- Comfort working in Rust.
- Comfort with LLM-assisted development and evals.
- Comfort working with Embedded databases.
- Clear communication across technical and non-technical audiences.
- Ability to navigate ambiguity and move quickly.
- Energized by solving real-world problems for developers.
