Salesforce is seeking a Software Engineering MTS to join a new internal cloud platform team focused on network security controls and management. The mission is to develop highly-available, performant distributed systems that provide security at the network level across Salesforce's public cloud, encompassing microsegmentation, network policy distribution, access control, distributed firewalls, and DDoS prevention. This role involves designing and operating platforms that enforce security policy across a multi-cloud, multi-substrate environment, with a strong emphasis on distributed systems, networking, and building security infrastructure at scale. The role also emphasizes integrating AI agents into human workflows to drive efficiency and innovation, and contributing to the shared system context that enables AI to operate reliably.
Responsibilities
- Architect and implement distributed systems for network-level security controls, including policy management, ACL enforcement, distributed firewalls, and DDoS/network protection.
- Develop microservices for network security platforms at cloud infrastructure and distributed platform levels.
- Research and implement networking security solutions for intra and cross-region network flows.
- Operate security platforms in a full DevOps model.
- Elevate engineering excellence through code reviews and mentorship.
- Build and ship high-quality, production-grade software using modern engineering practices, incorporating AI into the development workflow.
- Design and orchestrate complex systems for seamless AI agent integration into human workflows.
- Contribute to building and maintaining the shared system context for AI operations.
- Critically evaluate code (human or AI-generated) for correctness, quality, security, and performance.
Requirements
- 2 years in SaaS, PaaS, or IaaS software development.
- 2 years in a high-availability 24/7 environment.
- Demonstrated AI-first approach to engineering, using AI tools in development workflows.
- Advanced prompt engineering skills.
- Proficiency in Go, Java, C++, or Python.
- A related technical degree is required.
