About the job
Salesforce is seeking a Principal Data and AI Architect to join their Global Public Sector team. Your work will bridge technical architecture, solution engineering, applied data and AI, and practical delivery judgment within government and public sector environments. You will translate customer mission and data/AI ambitions into actionable architectures that meet stringent security, compliance, and governance requirements, focusing on both the foundational data and agent layers and the wider ecosystem.
Responsibilities
- Articulate a clear point of view on enterprise data and AI for public sector missions, integrating agents, data platforms, CRM, trust, identity, workflow, governance, security, compliance, and adoption to deliver value through Salesforce.
- Deeply understand and articulate the value of Salesforce data and AI products to public sector stakeholders.
- Partner with sales and solution teams to identify customer mission problems, shape technical strategy, and assess feasibility, security, and cost.
- Lead customer architectural discussions on Data 360, Agentforce, data structures, AI readiness, identity management, governance, integration, automation, compliance, and business value.
- Build customer confidence through demos, prototypes, proofs of concept, and architectural walkthroughs, demonstrating operationalization and scaling within public sector constraints.
- Continuously research and refine approaches for building within the public sector data and AI space.
- Translate field learnings into reusable assets, enablement materials, best practices, and product feedback.
Requirements
- 7+ years of experience in technical architecture, enterprise architecture, solution engineering, consulting, implementation, software engineering, or product development in complex enterprise environments.
- Experience in defense, federal/civilian, state, local, higher education, or nonprofit environments is preferred.
- Proven track record of shaping technical strategy, validating solution approaches, and aligning technology decisions with mission or business needs.
- Strong understanding of enterprise data, AI, integration, governance, security, privacy, and platform architecture concepts and patterns.
- Familiarity with public sector compliance frameworks and requirements.
