Salesforce is seeking experienced Technical Builders to serve as Forward Deployed Engineers (FDEs). In this role, you will design, build, and deploy agentic AI solutions directly within enterprise customer environments. You will collaborate closely with a Deployment Strategist to co-build solutions that go live in production from day one, working on real code in real environments to achieve measurable business impact. This position involves configuration, customization, and full-stack deployment of critical solutions, leveraging cutting-edge AI tools and platforms. You will be at the forefront of AI innovation, working on capabilities that shape the future of agentic AI and feeding your insights directly back to product teams.
Responsibilities
- Develop AI agents and experiences that perform real actions for organizations in production environments.
- Design agent intelligence, including prompts, reasoning, tool calls, and integration with customer systems using our Agentic AI platform and LLM techniques.
- Own technical components end-to-end, from architecture selection to production deployment, validation, and observability.
- Build and integrate data pipelines on platforms like Salesforce Data 360, Snowflake, and Databricks, including data modeling and output validation.
- Build and maintain agent performance dashboards and customer KPI reporting to monitor deployment health and business outcomes.
- Contribute to proofs-of-concept and MVPs, moving them from concept to deployable in a rapid timeframe.
- Co-build solutions with customers and partners, sharing best practices and enabling their teams.
- Surface platform gaps, edge cases, and field insights to senior engineers and product teams.
- Translate customer business challenges into deployable agentic solutions in partnership with the Deployment Strategist.
Requirements
- 3+ years of software engineering or technical delivery experience, with at least one production system.
- Experience in AI tech stack, full-stack development, or working with frontier models is ideal.
- Degree in Computer Science or a related field.
- Prior customer-facing technical delivery experience (consulting, professional services, or forward deployed engineering) is required.
- Fluency in at least one of Python, JavaScript/TypeScript, Java, or Apex, with willingness to learn others.
- Hands-on experience with LLMs and prompt engineering, including troubleshooting prompt failures.
- Deep understanding of data modeling, APIs, and integration patterns.
- Ability to effectively communicate with sales teams and customer architects.
- Proficiency in shipping quality code and evaluating AI outputs with engineering rigor.
- Active engagement with the evolving AI/data landscape, experimenting with new tools and models.
- Ability to travel approximately 25% of the time.
