About the job
Runpod is seeking its first video hire to join the Marketing team as a Senior Video Producer. This role will own the entire video production process, from intake to delivery, for a wide range of assets including social media content, paid advertisements, product demos, and launch announcements. You will be responsible for establishing Runpod's video system, defining formats, templates, and quality standards. This is a senior individual contributor role with a player-coach dynamic, where you'll spend most of your time editing and animating, and the rest managing a small bench of external collaborators. The focus is on editorial and motion design, leveraging AI where appropriate, to create compelling video content for a technical developer audience.
Responsibilities
- Manage the entire video request lifecycle: intake, brief, scope, schedule, delivery, and measurement.
- Make final editorial and craft decisions, preventing unnecessary escalations.
- Adhere to strict cycle-time targets for various video asset types.
- Maintain an accurate tracker for all video requests, including ownership and status.
- Edit all videos, focusing on storytelling, pacing, and technical accuracy.
- Ensure product information is presented clearly and legibly for a developer audience.
- Develop and maintain a library of video templates for different asset categories.
- Create title sequences and data visualizations with deliberate motion design choices.
- Build automated variant systems for paid ad campaigns to streamline production.
- Evaluate and integrate AI generation tools into the video production workflow.
- Direct and manage external videographers and motion designers, ensuring asset ownership.
Requirements
- Proven experience delivering video content for a technical or developer audience, with specific examples of past work and roles.
- Ability to edit, sound mix, caption, create aspect variants, and deliver final assets independently and efficiently.
- Experience working under tight deadlines, such as a 48-hour turnaround for social cutdowns.
- Proficiency with AI-capable workflows and programmatic video generation tools (e.g., Remotion) for automation.
- Strong motion design skills in After Effects or equivalent, with the ability to make independent creative choices.
- Experience managing a video program from end-to-end and making final production decisions.
- Experience managing freelance talent and studio relationships, including SOWs and day rates.
- Understanding of video distribution and measurement beyond basic view counts.
- Familiarity with 3D or hardware visualization concepts.
- Experience as the first or sole video hire in an organization.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay ranging from $130,000 to $185,000.
- Meaningful equity through stock options.
- Generous medical, dental, and vision plans.
- Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO).
- $1,200 home office and equipment stipend.
- Remote-first work environment.
