About the job
Runpod is seeking a Developer Relations Engineer to join their remote-first team. This role is crucial for building trust with developers by helping them succeed with Runpod's AI Developer Cloud. You will act as 'customer zero,' using the platform as developers do, and translating that experience into valuable content, tools, and advocacy. This position offers significant ownership, allowing you to shape developer resources, identify and build solutions for onboarding issues, and directly influence Runpod's expansion by accelerating developer adoption and reducing obstacles.
Responsibilities
- Build and instrument tooling, extensions, and plugins to enhance the developer experience on Runpod, ensuring measurable impact and adoption.
- Deliver technical talks at developer conferences and cultivate relationships with organizers and attendees.
- Actively use the Runpod platform to identify and report pain points and bugs encountered by users.
- Design and implement scalable programs for content, events, and community engagement to drive compounding impact.
- Maintain a consistent presence in developer communities, build genuine relationships, and relay insights to Product and other relevant teams.
Requirements
- Proficiency in coding with Python, JavaScript, or Go.
- Experience working as a software engineer.
- Demonstrated technical credibility, capable of building and demoing platform features and engaging in deep technical discussions.
- Experience creating technical content such as demos, documentation, tutorials, or sample applications for a developer audience.
- Proven track record of building integrations or contributing to open-source projects within an ecosystem (e.g., ML/AI frameworks, SDKs, tooling).
- Comfort working autonomously, identifying and resolving issues without direct supervision.
- Familiarity with GPU compute, ML infrastructure, or AI engineering workflows.
- Willingness and ability to attend events and conferences in person regularly.
- Capability to present publicly on behalf of a developer-facing product.
- Successful completion of a background check.
Benefits
- Competitive base pay ranging from $125,000 to $180,000.
- Meaningful equity in a fast-growing company through stock options.
- Comprehensive medical, dental, and vision plans with 100% employee coverage.
- Flexible Paid Time Off (PTO).
- $1,200 Home Office & Equipment Stipend.
