Replit is seeking its first M&A / Corporate Development hire to build and own the function, driving acquisition strategy and end-to-end execution to accelerate Replit’s core capabilities. This role will build and run Replit’s acquisition pipeline, identifying teams and technologies that can accelerate the company's mission. The individual will develop a deep understanding of the AI, developer tools, and software infrastructure ecosystem, and build relationships with founders, investors, and industry participants to source and evaluate mergers & acquisitions. This is a hands-on ownership role for someone who combines strong transaction execution skills with product judgment, relationship-building ability, and the capacity to drive complex decisions across teams, working closely with senior leadership and cross-functional departments.
Responsibilities
- Shape M&A strategy in partnership with senior leadership to align with product and company goals.
- Proactively identify acqui-hire, tuck-in, and large-scale acquisition opportunities.
- Establish trusted relationships with founders, investors, bankers, and operators.
- Map relevant markets including AI infrastructure, developer tools, and emerging technologies.
- Assess companies based on product alignment, market position, technical differentiation, and financial profile.
- Lead transaction execution from initial evaluation through closing, including valuation, due diligence, and negotiation.
- Coordinate integration planning with functional leaders.
Requirements
- 8+ years of experience in corporate development, venture capital, investment banking, or a related strategic role.
- Strong product and technological intuition.
- Demonstrated experience leading technology transactions through signing and closing.
- Experience researching markets, identifying companies, and developing opportunity pipelines.
- Strong financial modeling, valuation, and analytical skills.
- Ability to synthesize complex information into clear recommendations.
- Strong relationship-building and communication skills.
- High degree of ownership, curiosity, and comfort in ambiguous environments.
- Proven ability to manage complex transaction workstreams and hold cross-functional teams accountable.
